The cramped interior of an orbital space station, pale grey-green padded walls with strips of grey hook-and-loop tape, grey cables along the wall, soft white lamp light, floating weightless before the wall two small notebooks tethered by twisted pale wire loops through three holes at their top edge, one with a translucent red plastic cover, one in dark red-brown leatherette with small white specks, both with their plain back covers toward the lens, beside them six pencils in black, brown, blue, red, green and yellow, each fixed at its end to a small steel ring, one pencil drifting free, a hand in a grey-blue cotton sleeve steadying one notebook.
