The Olive Case

A bare drill hall of an ambulance depot in London on a foggy winter morning, pale light from tall arched windows, on a trestle table an open case of olive-green hard board with a dark green handle, green corner fittings and brass catches, lined grey inside, strapped into it with pale canvas straps a life-size training manikin in a blue tracksuit, seen from directly behind the head, only blond synthetic hair toward the lens, the face turned fully away, the inside of the lid plain grey, two hands in plain dark navy sleeves lowering an orange pump cylinder into the case.
