The Green Deck

A large bare laboratory room in California late at night, a few ceiling tubes lit at the far end, on a worn grey vinyl floor a four-wheeled cart about a metre wide, a grey aluminium profile frame under a light green deck plate, four tall wire-spoked wheels with black tyres and small gear motors at the axles, an open compartment with its wooden lid raised over bare circuit boards, an upright aluminium sheet, a tall slender mast with a small black television camera at its top, ahead of it three cardboard boxes and a wooden chair across the floor, a jacket over the chair back, the room empty.
