The Main Card

A small electronics workshop in southern California late at night, a single desk lamp over a workbench, on it a bare green circuit board twenty-five centimetres long with an L-shaped outline, rows of red and pale blue chip sockets, two white connector strips, a field of perforated prototyping board, a voltage regulator on a small heat sink, two large cylindrical capacitors, small orange and yellow capacitors, jack sockets at one edge, the board surface plain green, a soldering iron in its coiled stand, a power strip with a small grey plug-in module and a lit table lamp, a hand holding fine tweezers above the board.
