The enclosed white room at the top of a launch tower at Cape Canaveral, white-painted steel gratings under bright fluorescent tubes, the room otherwise empty, filling the frame a bell-shaped capsule of dark black-grey shingles ribbed lengthwise and studded with screw heads, above it a cylindrical neck of lighter mottled panels, an open rectangular hatch showing cable bundles, a small window, the shingles plain and unmarked, at the lower right edge of the frame only a slender hand and a white cuff holding a fine brush tipped with white enamel, one short fresh white curve of paint below the window.
